Dr. Kathy Norris is not just a painter but a soulful artist who sets her spirit free on the canvas. Growing up in rural Belmont County, Ohio with her father, a coal miner, and her mother, a homemaker, she found expression in the form of doodles, often featuring flowers, trees, and people.

Despite her humble beginnings, Kathy’s journey unfolded into a remarkable academic and professional trajectory. With a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Ohio University, she later earned her Ph.D in Education, specializing in online instructional design. Her career spanned over 40 years as a teacher and educational leader, culminating in her retirement in 2019.

However, retirement marked the beginning of a new chapter for Kathy. In 2017, she began a personal artistic journey under the instruction of David Myers. This allowed her to transform into a new era of exploration and evolution in the visual arts. Kathy’s work reflects a deep connection with the world around her, capturing the beauty of nature and humanity. Her hope is for her paintings to provide a sense of self-discovery and inspiration for all that is beautiful in the world.

Kathy resides in Westerville, Ohio, with her husband, Gary, and their dog Phoebe.
